§ 2-786. Sanitation Division: disposition of fees.

  • The receipts paid into the treasury from fees charged by the Sanitation Division shall be appropriated as follows:
    A. 
    Specific sums shall be appropriated by the City Council for the necessary repairs and improvements to the solid waste disposal facilities, and for operating and managing expenses, and for payment of all agents of the division.
    B. 
    Payments of interest on the loans and bonds of the division and all payments of principal shall follow the usual course of City indebtedness.
    C. 
    The balance, if any, after the requirements in Subsections A and B of this section are met, shall be maintained as surplus in the division fund to the extent that it does not exceed 25% of the total division budget. Any surplus in excess of 25% of the budget shall be used to reduce the fees charged for waste disposal.
